Hello. I don't think there is a bad choice when choosing a job in the army, but it does depend on what you want to do. I have had some fantastic opportunities while in the Household Calvary Regiment from working with horses on state ceremonial duty to working on armoured fighting vehicles. You will have to work with horses and tanks at different points of your career. If that is something you are interested in then I would give it a go. Thanks, and if you have any other questions please let me know.
Is there like an application for normal foot guards to like apply for CO (commissioned Officer) (2LT+)??
Hi there,
If you wanted to be an officer in any regiment you would need to first pass Army Officer Selection Board and be given a recommendation to attend Sandhurst. You begin there without a regiment. Choice but choose 2 as you go through the course. You complete visits and then interview for a position in that regiment. If you are successful then they select you for a commission with them.
Hope this helps
This helped me so much, thank you!
There is now only one thing that holds me back. Germany. I'am an german but i've always wanted to join the royal guards or the Household cavlary. Do you need to be an english member to join any of them?
The nationality requirements for joining the British Army can be found at https://jobs.army.mod.uk/how-to-join/can-i-apply/nationality/
