Should I join as a private, then apply as an officer? Or apply as a officer, then private if it doesn't work out?

Hi Luke,
That's an entirely up to you question and there are absolutely merits to both. We have a number of our officer candidates who are unsuccessful then move immediately to soldier careers instead as you are already in the application process so it is an easy jump.
I would say the big steer is how certain you are that you want to be an officer. If the answer is yes then go for it now but if you want to gain some experience and see first hand it is that an officer does then a soldier career first would help there. -
