Shall I have a backup option before I join the military?

Anonymous asked a question to Carl S.

Im 17 and im looking to go university. Should I go university and then join the army so I have a backup option? By the way I want to become a pilot as that has been a dream of mine for a long time.

    Good Morning!

Personally I think its a good idea to always have a plan to fall back on! but that would be a great career choice, even if you joined as a soldier in the AAC (Army Air Corps) you could later train as an NCO to become a pilot.

University would be ideal too go into and if you wanted a career in the armed forces afterwards you could apply for a bursary as long as you meet the eligibility criteria. If you would like to know more please click on the link below
