Reserve Radiographer

I want to join the Reserves as a Radiographer as I currently work as a band 6 in the nhs. What rank would I start at? What is it like day to day as a reserve in training and if i'm called for deployment? Im really debating it as I want to be able to balance my work life, personal life and army life.

    Good morning,

It would depend on your experience. Clinical experience as a band 6 i believe would set you up to join as an Officer. So Lieutenant, that being said potential for Captain. Truth be told it's not an area I'm completely familiar with.

I'm a regular full time Soldier so Reserves is a little different. Certainly when it comes down to days, you are to committed to a minimum of 27 days a year. As for deployments for the Reserves its entirely up to you which ones if any you volunteer for. The NHS has signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant Scheme. So your job is always safe in that respect. My understanding of Reserves as a whole is that you only commit to what you what to commit to. Of course the more you volunteer for the more opportunities and experience comes your way.
