Reflux and tattoos

Stephen H. asked a question to Claire W.

Hi Claire, I want to join as a reserve in a medical role, I'm concerned as I have acid reflux and take daily medication but its well managed. I also have large tattoos on both hands. I was wondering what steps I could take to have these checked before applying.

    Hi Stephen,

Generally you must be medication free for 2 years for everything I'm aware of as the bottom line.

That being said, I'm not a medical professional so I'm unsure as to what medical conditions fall under that banner as it could be all. The only way to really know is to apply.

Tattoos are not an issue, the new rule is as long as you cant see them in a passport style photo and they aren't offensive then it's ok to have them.
