If you're ever required to travel for work the Army will be able to arrange transport.
It's worth remembering that during your trade training you'll be given accommodation. You will normally be able to travel back home for weekends if you choose to, but this would be at your own expense.

While I didn't do my trade training at DATR, my experience will have been similar and I only travelled home a couple of times: you'll make loads of friends and its usually cheaper to stay on camp and explore the local area than to travel home every weekend. Plus, you'll probably want to relax over the weekend rather than spend it travelling.
