Hello. If you want to get closest to an infantry role and any potential combat then why not try to join an infantry or other combat unit? You don't actually have to make the decision till you get partway though officer training at Sandhurst where you will have the chance to visit a few different regiments before making your preference. I say preference because what units you will be offered will also depend on your own performance during training. Hopefully one of the officers on this platform may be able to give you more insight.
