1. Is the age cut off for nursing officers still 29? 2. at what stage is it possible to request specialist training? 3. is it possible to take 3 months leave to work abroad? 4. I am keen to be deployed- are these opportunities frequent? 5. what is the shortest contract for nursing officers?
1.For a nursing officer role you would already need to be qualified but as its a professionally recognised qualification the upper age limit is 35 and 11 months (check the link below) may be higher but you would need to talk to the NRC on 0345 600 80 80 to confirm this.
2.Specialist training usually starts a few years after qualifying if already qualified there's usually around 2-3 years before being allowed to specialise.
3/4. You are given 38 days leave per year so being able to work abroad in that time is unlikely unless approved by your chain of command however there is often scope for people to work abroad for a prolonged amount of time through postings such as Kenya Cyprus or Canada there are always opportunities available and provided you meet the right criteria you can volunteer for these and are likely to go.
5. its usually 4 years but may be five due to the job role itself the NRC will be able to provide more clarification on this and you will be told before joining.
