Also, is it best to arrive wearing shirt, trousers and shoes or casual clothing? I believe his training is 14 weeks but his Army portal says he’s leaving in October until May.
Hi there,
It is always best to arrive in smarter clothing and as to when he will get to go home, all recruits will complete an initial 6 weeks of basic training without going home. This is to start instilling the soldier mindset into them and get them to focus on nothing but the training at hand and not what they will be doing on the weekend. After that initial 6 weeks they will get the opportunity to have a few days off and then straight back to training.
Hope this helps.
