Hi Ozzy,
I think this is quite a common reaction with parents and understandable as well. What we offer in Sheffield Armed Forces Careers Office is for parents, siblings, partners etc the opportunity to come in with you and have a discussion with one of the recruiters. You don't need to have an active application in to do this and in every case I have witnessed we have always managed to help ease the parents worries. My advice to you would be to reach out to your local office and ask to book in for an informal discussion.
