Ozymandias K. asked a question to Tori C.
I lived a majority of my life in the united states, where the health care system is based on private insurance. Because this insurance is expensive, and costs come directly out of pocket, I have no medical history in the states. My medical history with my GP will only go back 8 years, and not until birth. Essentially, aside from my birth certificate, I have no real medical history until I turned 24. My history since then is clean and has no disqualifying conditions (to my knowledge). I am wondering what kind of issues this might cause me in regard to medical eligibility. Thank you very much for answering this strange question. I understand if you don't have the exact answer, but any advice you can provide in how I might deal with an issue like this is very appreciated.
Hello,
I'm afraid I can't give you an exact answer to this question - entry medicals are managed by Capita rather than by military doctors, so this is not my area of expertise.
I would imagine provided your current records don't show a problem, and you pass the medical examination, a lack of records might not prove to be a barrier - I wouldn't let this stop you applying anyway!
