    Hello,

The entry test consists of: Multi stage fitness test (MSFT/beep test); medicine ball throw; and mid thigh pull.

You can find out more information on the entry physical fitness test here: Prepare for Assessment - Army Fitness Tests | Army Jobs

Information relating to the pass standards are on the individual role pages: Find Your Perfect Army Career - Find A Role | Army Jobs

The tests are designed to make sure that you have a good foundation level of fitness that can be built on during Basic Training.

Once you've finished Basic Training, the tests are:

    • The Soldier Conditioning Review (SCR) is done at least once every 6 months and consists of: Medicine ball throw; broad jump; pull ups; dead lift; shuttle sprints; and a 2km run.
    • The Role Fitness Test (Soldier) (RFT(S)) is done at least once every 12 months and consists of: Loaded march; tactical movement; casualty drag; stretcher carry; vertical lift; repeated lift and carry; and incremental lift.

The SCR is due to be updated this year and is reported to be a 2km aerobic run; dead lift; press ups; and pull ups.

Provided that your weight doesn't affect your health, fitness, or ability to do your job, there shouldn't be a need to lose any... your section may have some choice words for you if they have to CASEVAC you and your 40kg+ kit, though.
