I am a UAE national and I am interested to join Sandhurst for a particular program about mental toughness. I also wanted to know how long is a program from what I understood it 1 year was wondering if there is a program less than 1 year that can achieve the same benefit or accelerate? soon going to graduate with a bachelor's degree in logistics and procurement. I also wanted to know if can i apply to Sandhurst directly or do I have to be sponsored by the UAE military to enter. at the moment the age is 24 soon in about 4 months to turn in age 25 would most likely join if possible age 26 or 27. any information will greatly help thank you.
Hi, many thanks for your question. As a UAE national you wouldn't be eligible to join the British Army. The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is a training academy for those wishing to become officers in the British Army (and you are right - it's a 12 month (44 wk) course). If you are an officer in the UAE military or in the UAE military then perhaps this is something you can look at but unfortunately you can't just go or apply to Sandhurst. I hope this helps answer your question.
Hi, Can an international masters student from one of the commonwealth countries enlist as reservist officer, Intel unit & be sponsored on graduate/student visa? I am at the end of my masters degree in engineering and having spent 5 years in a military college, I have a very good idea of the culture, requirements, rules, training, mindset and challenges of joining the army. Please advise about the possibility of an international student to enlist in the army, specifically in the intelligence unit, and visa requirements for reservist officer posts. Thanks.
You cannot be a Reservist unless you are a British or Irish citizen unfortunately . If you are interested in joining the regular army as a commonwealth citizen you can access the application form via the official army application portal: www.apply.army.mod.uk
Right. Thank you Jen. Will do.
