Good morning, thanks for your question. There are some roles and locations where you wont get deployed, these are normally training establishments etc. There are plenty of roles that are more stable though, but in short you will have to deploy at some point in your career. Thank you for your question. As Paul mentions there are a few roles where you may not need to deploy, these tend to be highly specialist roles which can be conducted from the UK, like cyber warfare.

It is important to remember that the propose of the Army is to fight and win wars on land, and so most of our forces need to deploy overseas to do this.

An alternative may be the Army Reserve where you have more control over what you do, and when you deploy.

If deploying overseas is not something that you believe you could do, then you will need to think hard about whether a career in the military is the right choice for you.

Hello,
To add a little more to the above, deploying abroad has been a highlight of my career. You may be thinking of combat operations when you say 'deployment' but more of what you may get up to is going abroad to conduct exercise or other non-combat tasking's.
I've been to Canada, Kenya, Oman, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, and Germany (and a few others) with the army and every time I've had the opportunity to explore the local area, do adventure training like skydiving, sub aqua diving, sailing and lots more.
The opportunity to travel with a job that pay's (and will pay you to do all this) is one of the best things about a career in the army and I wouldn't let the fear of combat operations put you off.
