Is there opportunities for experienced cavalry officers to train/back horses for service?

Thanks for your message.
The horses are generally trained by the more experienced soldiers of the regiment. You can not join as an instructor/trainer. You would have to join like any trooper, complete basic training and then undertake riding school with the regiment. Every mounted soldier completes this, whether experienced or not.
