If you are interesting in a logistical job then check out the Royal Logistic Corps. You can be a supplier, a movement controller or even a postie
So most roles in the Army consist or driving in one way or the other. Is there anything specifically you have in mind?
Also you can be a driver as a main trade in the Royal Logistic Corps or Royal Engineers
So all Logistic Jobs you can do an element of Driving I am a Driver Communications Specialist so I get to establish and maintain Communications, as well as the driving side of it.
What is it like working in communications Katrin?
Driver Air dispatch
Communication specialist
Tank transporter
Vehicle supply specialist
These are the four different types of driver roles within the RLC
So working in communications varies depending on where we get posted to so it can be that I am part of a main stream unit setting up a big regimental operations room, to being part of a small unit using a small hand held radio talking to helicopters while delivering important supplies.
Thanks, Brings up a question to what percentage of the job is civilian to combat?
So being Logistics we are part of the supply chain and support element so we aren't in the forefront of combat, we are trained to deal with combat as we are soldiers first and foremost but we are the guys who get the equipment to the guys on the frontline.
There are opportunities to be attached to the guys on the front if we're in a unit such as Commando Logistic Regiment.
Thanks, Katrin.
