Is there any jobs that don't involve travelling in planes and helicopters etc
I have a phobia of flying and it's the only thing that's stopping me applying for the army as I have now developed a interest in joining. Is there any jobs in combat or infantry that don't involve traveling by air transport (planes, helicopters, jets etc)

Hi Naomi,
As we must be ready to deploy anywhere in the world, travel on a plane (usually a normal commercial airliner) is quite common as we do exercises and operations overseas and not just in the UK.
Other than that, it is probably about once a year that infantry soldiers travel in a helicopter or by other air transport. -

Hi Naomi,
You would at some point need to in order to deploy overseas - air is the usual way we do this.
