Hello, I was researching and saw there is a 6 month waiting period. Is it between the application and assessment or between assessment and training? Also could you please give a rough average timeline of what to expect after I submit my application? I am 16 If that makes a difference. Thank you!
Hello Nathan,
There will always be a wait time but it can vary depending on lots of factors like role availability, assessment and training dates, and medical records. I've heard a wide range of waiting times, for me it took about 3-4 months, but I've heard of others who take over a year. The usual advice is to get your application in as sooner rather than later: applying isn't a commitment to join. Your age will make a difference: Soldiers joining under the age of 18 go to the Army Foundation College Harrogate, so you'll have to wait to be aligned to an intake there.
To get a more accurate waiting time for your application it would be best for you to visit your local Army Career Centre. You can find details here: Your Local Army Careers Centres
I hope that helps, good luck with your application.
