Hi connor yes its true. Though phase 2 training you will get your licences upto C+E then when you get to your unit they will put you on courses to drive all different vehicles.
Connor
It all depends on your trade, some trades require different licenses. My trade group - Technical Support Specialist in the REME all get B and C+E upon completion of Phase 2 training. When the soldiers get to their unit they maybe required to drive tracked vehicles, so the unit with source them H Cat licences. Along side that there is the the requirement for MHE Material Handling Equipment, so things like forklift and rough terrain forklift plus a plethora of others. Due to the variety of jobs in the Army there is not generic driver training requirement for a soldier.

I’m looking at the signallers logistics unit. I do warehousing currently so logistics seems to be the right move forward
They'd certainly be a good shout, REME and Artillery also have their own specialist logistics trade and the RLC supply the largest amount with the Logistic Support Specialist. I can't speak on behalf of their trades, but always happy to give info on Technical Support Specialist.

That’s a very good point sir. I haven’t actually decided all I have so far is logistics are where I want to be. Are the RLC REME and artillery logistics pretty similar or are they each responsible for something in particular?
Connor, There similarities between the trades yes, but each provide a different service. The Signals, REME and Royal Artillery logistics trades provide a more bespoke service to their Corps/Regiments. The Technical Support Specialist in the REME is responsible for the provision and accounting for all the items required by the Armys Vehicle mechanics, Metalsmiths, Aircraft Technicians, Avionics Technicians, Electronics Technicians, Recovery Mechanics and Armourers. This includes, vehicles, weapons, ammunition, tools, test equipment, radios etc. We also provide the real life support services in the field, water, rations and uniforms etc. Added to this is the requirement to act as driver rad ops utilising the CVRT vehicle and or PM Protected Mobility fleet, manning the Comms for HQ. Lastly, we have the option to delve into the training space (if you want to and if you are selected) delivering training at Phase 1 and 2 and in unit training provision.
