Is it true that guards recruits spend more time on their admin like polishing boots as opposed to line infantry recruit?
Preferably someone, who serves/served within Guards/Line infantry and knows the recruit training.

I am currently serving in the welsh guards.
The answer to your question would be not really, like regiments will spend a similar amount of time polishing their fad shoes.
Once your drill boots have enough polish on them, they are very easy to maintain. With infantry training being hectic, it’s sometimes nice to chill and be told to sit down and do your boots for half an hour in the peace and quiet. The standard of your kit will become addictive, would you rather wear fad shoes at an average standard or wear drill boots you can see your face in?
