is it possible to join as an officer with a history of self harm (not recent)with no current mental health issues at all

I had self harm issues as a teenager which would have ended 6 and a half years ago by the time i would be applying and i have no issues since and i am 100% confident that it is never going to be part of my life, is it ever possible to join in my position and how would i prove that i am not a risk?

This would be determined on a case by case basis and can only be determined by the medical team during you application. Unfortunately we cant advise more than that but being free from any current issues and medication for is always a step in the right direction. If you are on medication then it is advised to speak to your doctor first.
