Vice versa too, could I join as a student nurse do basic and University then do para training and still be a nurse? or would I be more deployed and classed as a para more than a nurse.
Transfers from para to nursing would be doable provided you met the right grades for the job role. You may still be expected to do a short term within a para unit for this to happen.
Nursing to the para regiment would be highly unlikely as a transfer as it would be seen as downgrading from knowledge from your job role going from a degree to a role that requires no qualifications and even then you would still need to complete your return of service from the nursing degree before they would consider this as a viable option.
If it is the para side that you are interested in then there are opportunities that will allow you to do both such as 16 medical regiment. You can also apply for a parachute course as well as commando course within the job role too as are open to all trades.
