Is it possible that during training, one gets told he will not be joining the regiment he applied for?
(I'd like to join as a dog handler, but seeing the huge interest, I want to be sure that there is a guarantee that after basic training, I would go on to become a dog handler and not transfered elsewhere.)

It is highly unlikely that changes will happen in basic training because the jobs are already allocated to individuals as their training runs in line with the completion of basic training this is usually confirmed at the 6 week mark where you are given your corps cap badge. If you are applying for dog handler you will be added to a waiting list once you start your training this is unlikely to change unless you ask it to
