Is it permissible for the state to buy used defense equipment? If so, is the used equipment unsuitable for soldiers?

This platform is for providing information on the lived experience within the Army to assist people in making their decision to join, it is not really best placed to provide the information you request here.
What I will say is that the British Army prides itself in providing technologically advanced kit and equipment, to give our soldiers the human advance and to ensure they are protected. The military would not procure kit and equipment which it felt was unsafe and did not provide the required protection to its people.
