Is it better to join after high school or college if you want to be a higher rank in the future?

No, any educational qualification you require while in the Army will be provided. As long as an individual has passed the relevant course you will be able to promote in line with everyone else.

Your school/college/uni Quals will impact the jobs you can do/apply for. eg medical roles required more education, Infantry nothing at all. The qualis required for each role can be found on the army jobs website.

    Hi Igor,

Like James says, its ultimately down to an individuals preference, i joined at 18 years old and i wish i had joined at 16.

My opinion is, join at 16 and this gifts you more time to climb the promotional ladder.

or join further education and join a little later like i did with the potential of becoming an Officer if this is on your wish list.
