I'm thinking about joining the light role infantry after college and what is the day to day life like in the infantry and while being deployed
I'm not infantry, but I have worked along side them in camp and deployments.
Day to day is fairly easy.
Mon, Tues, Thurs. Around 0830 for physical training. In the office for 1030. Odd jobs till 1230. lunch till 1330. More bits and bobs until 1700.
Wednesday you'll be in the office first thing until lunch. Then everyone will play sports in the afternoon.
Friday is usually done by 1200 unless there is work to be done.
This pattern is fair generic for all combat arms to be fair.
On deployment, Ops or exercise, is totally different. You'll be expected to ready for anything 24hrs, 7 days a week to do whatever needs done. It can be hard, but its better than in camp and is what we join the Army to do.
Again fairly open ended answer, but I'd be here for days written an answer if i went into detail.
