infantry signal specialist role. How do I become a signal specialist when in the infantry.

How do I become one? Is it offered to everyone or only select candidates? How long do I have to serve as a regular soldier before I'm offered the opportunity. How long does the process take Thankyou.

    Well first thing first,

you'd need to decide what primary role you'd like. Infantry and signals are two very different roles which do share some aspects.

I'll focus on Inf as I know a little more about that. If you joint the Inf (any reg), you would be a Inf soldier first. You will cover some basic radio stuff during basic and trade training before getting to your regiment.

Once your there, highlighting your interest in signals will put you in that environment more until such time you can complete more advanced courses. That would most likely require you to be a LCpl which can take years to reach.

    I hope that helps.
