Hi Ashwin,
In a typical regiment you will have a Medical Officer, and then several CMTs of various ranks. The MO will provide clinical supervision and advice, as well as teaching for the CMTs. They will also act as a line manager and have a part in writing some of their yearly reports. If a regiment deploys, the MO and CMTs will go with them as their medical cover.
GDMOs will work with CMTs regularly, usually in a clinical supervision/advice role, rather than as a line manager or writing their reports.
I hope that helps.
