Basic training in the British Army, is designed to develop recruits' physical fitness, military skills, and discipline. While the exact proportion of physical training (PT) can vary slightly depending on the specific training centre and program, PT is typically done every weekday morning unless deployed on exercise. In my opinion , PT probably makes up around 20% of the total training time.
Here is a list of the different types of PT that you can do in the Army:
1 . Running and Endurance Training.
2. Strength and Conditioning.
3. Marching and Load-Carrying.
4. Swimming.
5. Sports afternoon
It’s important to remember all training is done in a gradual build up with annual fitness assessment and tests to measure your progress and set benchmarks to improve.
