I'm joining as a electronic technician (REME) what unit would I join?
do I pick what unit/regiment I go into or how does it work for reme?

Hi Steven,
In the REME upon completing trade training you will put in what is called a Triple P (posting preference proforma) in which you will get a choice of units that need your certain trade. You will typically get on of these choices but sometimes the Army's needs come first so there is the possibility to get sent wherever you are needed. In my experience I have always been posted to either my first or second choice. As an electronics technician you will have an extensive list of units due to the nature of your job so it could be anything from a first line infantry unit to a medical/dental role. Wherever you go you will be able to develop as a craftsman and learn to thrive in your trade.
