    Hi there,

Absolutely you could and you could also be eligible for support during your Medicine degree.

The Medical Bursary is open to candidates who will graduate with an Army-endorsed medical degree and intend to join the Royal Army Medical Corps for a minimum period of 4 years as a commissioned Medical Officer. Paid in annual instalments of £10,000 during your final three years of university then a lump sum of £45,000 on successful completion of Officer training. You will also be paid an Army salary during your two years of foundation.

In order to apply it would through our Army Jobs website initially and then you would be passed to our Professionally Qualified Officer team. I would always recommend doing this as soon as you have a place at Medical School as it sets the ball rolling with our process. It also opens up that dialogue between you and the recruitment team to ask questions to the experts. As a prospective Army Doctor, you will conduct an Officer Familiarisation visit to the Army Medical Services followed by the Army Officer Selection Board and your Doctor specific selection board. If successful for the Bursary you would then remain at university whilst in receipt of your bursary and then do FY1 and 2 in on of our regional defence medical units embedded in the NHS. You can also apply without the Bursary and the process is very similar.
