Hello. There is no reason why you couldn't have a long and rewarding career in the infantry. If you feel like you may want to do something else however the Army offers over 200 job roles for you to consider. Is there a reason you want to wait 12 years to join? You can make an application a 15 and 9 month, find out more about a possible career and then withdraw your application if you decide the army isn't for you.
