If reservists have the time, can they go through regulars basic training
Planning to take a gap year, so il have the time to do reg. basic, but dont want to commit myself to 4 yrs. Would like to stay in a reserve unit

This unfortunately isn't as straight forward as you might think.
The training is different for a reason. I'd recommend joining Regulars, even if it is just for 4 years for an experience like no other. That being said, Reserves is a great option if you want the best of both worlds.
