If I transfer to RLC as a Lance Jack from artillery, would I still keep rank and pay?

    Hello Darnell,

Each transfer is looked at case by case and you may have to drop a rank if you transfer, but not always. I would predict that as you'd be going from a Combat role to a Logistics & Support role (two very different career streams) that your experience would not directly transfer, so a reduction in rank would probably be on the table.

If your goal is to join the RLC (or any other cap badge) it's advisable to join them to begin with, not to transfer. Transfers are possible but aren't taken lightly: there needs to be a position for you in the Corps you're transferring to, and the losing Corps has to recruit and train somebody else to replace you. Also, when applying to transfer you'll be expected to have strong justification and to have in-depth knowledge about your new Corps and chosen trade, making it far easier to join your chosen Corps from the beginning.
