i have been in an apprenticeship since i was 16, i'm now 18 and have just over 2 years left but i really want to join the paras if i quit my apprenticeship to apply will this look bad on my application?
That's a very reasonable question and the short answer is - no.
The pass standard for the paras does not include having to have an apprenticeship so, if you choose to end yours to join, then that is entirely your choice. In fact, over 95% of soldiers undertake an apprenticeship with the Army after they join, so it doesn't have to be the end of the line for you.
That said, the application process can take a little while so it might be worth trying to coincide starting basic training with completing your apprenticeship so you have that additional qualification on your CV.
Ultimately it is your decision and I wish you luck with whatever route you take.
