If i live close to base, will i be able to go home every day after work like a regular job or just weekends

Hi there,
After you have finished your Phase 1 (Basic) training then yes absolutely you'll be able to go home as if it were any other job. In fact, on some of our bases, our Service Families Accommodation is located off base so our soldiers commute it daily. It's only when we go away on exercises or operations that this changes and this is a very small proportion of a normal year.
