If I complete and pass Officer Training at Sandhurst do I have to sign a contract to serve for a definite period?

Hi, in short, yes you do. You have to serve 4 years (that includes your year at Sandhurst). On commissioning you are given a Short Service Commission (read contract) but you can sign off after 3 years (you are required to give a years notice). If you join the Army Air Corps however you have to serve longer due to the time (and money) spent on pilot training. I hope this helps.
