I would like to join the reservists. Will a reservist be called to attend areas of conflict? And if so,is it compulsory?

Hi there,
It would be foolish of me to say you can join the reserves and not be expected to fight but......at the moment, deployments are optional and look for volunteers first. If you are unable to go then that is accepted but if you are not prepared to deploy ever then it would be worth thinking about why you are joining. There are trades that you can join that are in a support role rather than a fighting role however all soldiers are trained to fight if needs be.
