I am a third year law student who is considering pursuing an army legal officer career and would like to experience what it’s like. Ideally this would be in Scotland however I am open to England.
Callum.....sorry for the late reply, i have been asking around the Army to get you an answer as we dont currently have any Army Legal Service insiders who can answer your question directly....however not is all lost, i have an answer for you:
"ALS holds insight visits , several times a year, at the Adjutant General's Corps Headquarters in Worthy Down, Winchester, SO21 2RG. These are designed to give prospective canditates an opportunity to find out more about a career in the ALS and an insight into the application and training process.
During the ALS Insight Visit you will stay overnight in the Officers' Mess, visit a Court Martial Centre and meet some serving ALS Officers in a relaxed environment"
For more information please contact Kate Hussey on kate.hussey100@mod.gov.uk
As someone from the Royal Armoured Corps this has definitely maxed out my knowledge of the ALS but please speak to Kate for more info.
I really hope this helps and sorry for taking so long to get you an answer.
Hi Robert thank you a lot for your reply that was very helpful and thank you for the contact information you have been a great help.
