Hi, during initial basic training you won't see much of your S/O but after this although you might live on a military base, either in the UK or overseas - you won’t have to give up on your old life (unless you are away on operations or exercise or adventurous training) as you’ll normally work Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 5pm so if you have civi clubs you want to be part of you can. Many units have a slighter later start on a Monday, sports afternoon on a Weds and usually a 1:30pm finish on a Friday. You’ll also get 38 days leave a year.
