Id say maybe.
1. You have to be minimum of a LCpl to start your JTAC application. That will take a few years on its own. Once you qualify, i think you have to post with the Artillery to gain experience before posting to external units.
2. JTAC is a hard cse to pass. It might not happen 1st time. To say you wait all this done in 8 years is a push.
That said, there is no reason why you cant serve a time in on 1 of the para regiments, before promoting, doing JTAC.
As a JTAC you'll have an easier time moving about as they are always in high demand across the Army.
