I want to join the paratroopers when I can and my parents are NOT happy with what I would like to do. Any adivce?

    Hi Alex,


    I'd be happy to discuss directly with your parents if they would be open to it. Many parents understandably want the best for their children, That being said, those that refuse to allow their children to join earlier is simply down to not understanding the benefits it affords us as Soldiers and in turn, those around us.. I feel they'll be pleasantly surprised.


    You can apply online via the Army website as soon as 15 years and 7 months. That being said if your parents are unwilling to allow you join that young you'll miss out on the vast opportunity's given to you at AFC Harrogate. Either way you'll be able to make your own decision once you are 18 regardless.


    Personally, i'd love for my kids to follow in my footsteps when they come of age. If they don't wish to though, thats up to them. It's a great career, certainly one of the best. If they choose another path, thats on them.
