I'm studying psychology aiming to develop civilian and army life, connecting and educating people to improve wellbeing. I'd love an army job but I've got quite unwell in the past but I'd like to get involved where I can and do what I'm ready for keeping in mind my own recovery.
There are jobs in psychology within the Army which can be utilised, or you may be better off being a civilian contractor in the same or equivalent capacity. As for connections this would need to be something that is approved by the chain of command usually through the headquarters. You may be better of managing lower level help first to try and build an impact. I used to do a lot of networking in recruitment. There are pathways into it but you'd be better of asking your local office first or talking to the headquarters directly to see how you can help.
The NRC will be able to advise you on what career options you have but may not be able to help with connections but still worth asking if not they will point you in the right direction for the job roles suitable for you. You can call the NRC on 0345 600 80 80.
