I am currently studying psychology i want to become a mental health officer, my question is will i be promoted and whether i would be deployed with the rest of the mates
Also i want to become a mental health officer. Do i have to become a soldier then officer?
As a mental health nurse, you will be in a firm base at a medical hospital rather than in the field at a forward base.
Would there be days where i’ll be serving on the front line?
Becoming a mental health officer at the min will require you to join as a soldier first and then go for LE commissioning at a later date.
No not as a mental health nurse.
However during basic training you will be trained up to the same level as every other soldier in the army .
Can i join the army as an officer and in the first phase as an officer
Yes you can, but not as a mental health nurse.
The way to join as a mental health nurse officer at the min is, qualify as a MHN, then apply to the army you'll do the short course at sandhurst, 9 weeks. Then you'll do your entry officers course 8 weeks
Thankyou
