I want to be a lawyer for the army, what financial support is available to me to become qualified?

Anonymous asked a question to Carl S.

Hello! I recently achieved a first class in my law degree and I am going to sit the LPC (with LLM in Law and Business) in September but the fees are very expensive. I am certain I want to join the army and was wondering what financial support would be available to me from the army that could help me qualify or cover course or living fees?

Unfortunately as you have already completed your degree the army is unable to help - the army offers initial uni bursaries but not to go on to study law. In order to be a lawyer in the army you must be fully qualified and sat the bar. On the plus side, if you are successful in joining the Army you join as a Professionally qualified officer (PQO), commission as a Captain on a minimum initial starting salary of c. £44.5k pa. I hope this helps - although not what you wanted to hear.
