Good morning,
The Army is an unusual one in that you can be expected to work any time, 24/7 and will do when operations. However in the uk, when not on exercise, the most common working day sits between 0830-1730. The rest of the time is your own. Be aware though, that when on exercise or operations you will not be given time to conduct your business as the Army will come first.
As a regular soldier/officer you are only allowed to have one job/source of income…..the Army. Anything above this must be only undertaken with permission from your Chain of Command. This is in part for tax reasons but also so that they can ensure that you are still able to conduct your duties.
