Quame S. asked a question to Aaron R.
Hello Quame,
Great choice! But there's more to it than just being a soldier.
Your first step should be to check the eligibility requirements. You'll need to be able to meet every requirement before you can consider joining.
Next, you should decide what role you want to join (there are hundreds!) and have a few backups in case your first choice isn't available. In short, the roles are categorised into:
Make sure you do plenty of research on your chosen roles, you'll be expected to have a rough idea of what it is you'll be doing.
Once you're ready, you can apply here. After you've applied you'll be given a local Recruiter and attend an Army Briefing before going to an Assessment Centre where, among other things, you'll have a full medical examination and conduct physical and mental tests. You'll be made an offer to start Basic Training to become a soldier after you pass the Assessment Centre.
As you can see there's lots to do and consider. If you have any questions on what to expect, what life is like, or any general advice, here is the place to ask!
