I start basic training in a week and I don't have a bank account, will the army sort that out for me?

Hi! Thanks for your question.
You will need to set up a Bank account prior to starting Phase 1 Training so you can actually get paid.
During training, multiple external companies will come and give briefs to the recruits, one of these is Holts Military Banking. A lot of recruits will open an account with these aswell, but my personal opinion would be not to as there are too many horror stories.
