I want to join the army. I need structure and discipline. My parents don’t want me and I now live my with elderly grandparents. The council are finding it difficult finding me a school. I’m doing my GCSES and have missed a lot as my school is taking time. Can you offer me a purpose and an education
Hello Ernest,
The Army is a great place for structure, discipline, purpose, and even education.
Before joining, I always encourage people to go as far as they can in school: it may not seem like it now, but getting the best qualifications you can now will make life easier and broaden your opportunities, even in the Army.
Next, make sure you research what it is you want to join in the Army, and have a good reason for joining. You'll be interviewed to make sure you're making the right choice for you, if you clearly don't know what you're getting into you won't be offered a place. There's lots to find out and explore on the Army jobs website: The British Army | Army Jobs and Recruitment
As a final point, if you're under 18, you'll need parental consent to join. If you're not sure you'll be able to get this, you may need to wait until you're 18 before you join. If this is the case, I recommend using the time to focus on education and fitness.
