I’m wondering if I’m able to sign up to become an electrician in the army, but still play a role as a soldier

I’m hoping to join up to get my electricians degree, but I also desperately want to be a paratrooper or a dog handler? Im asking if it’s possible to do both?

Philip, Traditionally trades stay separate. You would not be able to be an electrician as well as a member of the Parachute Regiment as Airbourne Infantry nor would you be able to be a Doghandler concurrently as they are separate.

That being said there are electricians in the Royal Engineers and there are Royal Engineers serving in 16 Air Assault Brigade as Airbourne soldiers. Likewise there are dog handlers who work with 16 Air Assault Brigade too.

    Thanks for the confirmation.
